Harvest Day

September 16, 2017 @ 8:00 am - 12:00 pm

It’s the most bountiful time of the year. Help the growers, farmers and food producers of the Barrie Farmers’ Market celebrate Harvest Day on September 16. Here’s what we have in store for you:

  • Guess the Weight of the Squash – 25 cents per guess and whoever guesses the closest without going over wins a MASSIVE harvest basket full of produce, prepared foods, and other goodies from the market’s vendors.
  • Face painting and balloons for the kids – Stop by the Bling Face Painting tent for some family fun
  • Drawing classes – from Marshall Geddes of The Drawing House
  • Live music from local singer-guitarist Jeremiah Hill

Also stop by the FruitShare Barrie booth to find out all about the work they’re doing to collect fruit and vegetables from local gardens to support social services agencies like the Barrie Food Bank.

Thank you to all of the vendors who donated to the Harvest Day prize basket for the squash contest: Adam’s Honey, Auntie’s Fine Foods, Bark & Mewz, Beach Baby Bath & Body, Bernier Farms, Black Angus Farmgate, Brown’s Farm, Camphill Communities Ontario, Carpe Diem Farm, Carter Farms, Cedar Hollow Alpaca Farm, Clarke’s Fruit & Vegetables, Dolcella Gelato, El-Cam Farm, Elegance by the Duo, Fat Rooster Farm, Georgian Chocolate Co., Grandpa’s Hungarian Sausages, Green by Hand, Heena’s Curry House, Highmark Farm, Holly’s Sweets & Eats, In a Nutshell, Jacobi’s Crafts, Joan LeBoeuf, Jun’s Roll, Lotus Natural Living, Lynda Desroches Home Baking, Mays Food Service, McBride’s Organic Farm, Mettrum Originals, Nicholyn Farms, No Wheat Treats, Northern Kettle Corn, Pachamama Corp, Rosie Rain Meat Pies, Stone Horse Farm, T&R Jones Farm, Terry’s Unique Hot Sauce, Thatch Patch Family Farm, Williams Farm, and Your Ultimate Meals.
