Day of the Honeybee

May 26, 2018 @ 8:00 am - 12:00 pm

Free

May 26 is the Day of the Honeybee in Ontario and the Huronia Beekeepers Association will be at the Barrie Farmers’ Market to answer all of your questions about these important pollinators and the people who take care of them. While you’re at the market, be sure to pick up local honey and hive products like pollen, propolis tincture, and beeswax from Turnview Farm and Adam’s Honey.

Providing entertainment for the morning is Toronto musician Jimmy Pearson .

As part of the Salvation Army Barrie Corps’ 135th anniversary, their brass band will be performing from 10 to 10:30 a.m. along with a short play with old time costumes depicting when The Salvation Army came to Barrie.

Take advantage of local food, plants, and artisan products every Saturday, all year long. The Barrie Farmers’ Market keeps bringing fresh local goodness to Mulcaster Street all the way through October. Stop in between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m. and meet your local farmers, producers, chefs, bakers, and artisans, then wander downtown to take in the waterfront. See you Saturday!
